|This is a team game whereby each player first picks his first power when joining, then waits until we have our full compliment of 5 players. At that time players will pick their second power in reverse order from when they joined. Which means the last player gets to pick his second power first among the 5 powers that remain and so on until the first player gets the last remaining power.|
If you opt to join the game without picking a power (this is called "reserving a seat"), you will be asked to choose your first power after all players have joined. You will have 3 days for this, which the GM will inform you about by broadcast. If you fail to pick a power by then, the GM will assign one randomly for you in the order in which you joined the game. To be clear, the order in which the powers are assigned (so not necessarily the order of joining) determines the reverse order for the second part. As such, there might be some incentive to wait until everyone else has chosen, but don't exaggerate or you'll start with a random power.
When choosing the second power everyone needs to wait their turn (no early submissions, please). When that turn comes, you get 2 days max (give or take some fudge time) after the GM announces that you're up and informs you personally of the powers to choose from and your deadline (always at 23:00 GMT, not in weekends). Failing to submit your choice to him will again lead to the GM picking one randomly. The last person (the first one to join and pick a power) automatically gets what's left. Some of you (positions 2, 3 and 4) will thus have some knowledge of the other team combinations by looking at the list of available powers when their turn comes up, making these spots more attractive in a way. Knowledge is power.
